About Me
Hi! My name is Alejandra Lara. I'm Mexican-American and currently in my third year at Syracuse University studying Information Management & Technology with a concentration in Information Security Management.
Alongside being a student, I am currently a Software Engineering Fellow at HeadStarter AI. Additionally, I am also a student at CodePath, partaking in their Internship Connection Program.
I have experience in Python, Haskell, HTML/CSS and I am in the process of learning JavaScript.
I believe myself to be motivated and dedicated, allowing for my work ethic to be high standard. I put my best foot forward
in everything I attempt. While my technical skills may not be fully developed yet, I am always willing to learn and
be the best that I can be.
Beyond the corporate world, I am an avid reader, art lover, and video game enthusiast. I spend my free time looking for new novels to read or playing MOBA games. I absolutely adore Art and spend the occasional weekend at Art galleries.
Achievements
April 2024
Participated as a research member in the Blockchain Team under NEXIS, a student run technology lab within the iSchool at Syracuse University.
Working in a group with three others, our focus was on building smart contracts with the use of Blockchain for the timber industry. We submitted our final poster
and received an Innovative Solutions Award.
May 2024
Accepted an internship opportunity as an Events Management & Planning Intern @ Start Lighthouse,
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing childhood literacy through a social justice lens.
June 2024
Accepted as a student in CodePath's Internship Connection Program, a program dedicated
for computer science students from historically underrepresented communities in tech who show outstanding
potential to succeed as a professional software engineer.
July 2024
Accepted as a Software Engineering Fellow at Headstarter.
Will be working in teams of 3-4 to build 5+ AI apps and APIs.
